I can’t tell you how many times I hear this question “Which kit do I order to eliminate the magazine disconnect from my Ruger® MKIII™?” Our Accurizing Kit for the Ruger® MKII is the kit that you need. It comes with all the necessary components to produce a clean, crisp 2 lb trigger pull. It will also include our Hammer Bushing for the Ruger® MKII. This bushing used with our Target Hammer for the MKII allows you to remove the magazine disconnect lever and spring. This bushing will not work with a hammer designed for the Ruger® MKIII™. Please note that our Accurizing Kit for the Ruger® MKIII™ does not come with an aftermarket hammer bushing. There are currently no aftermarket hammer bushings that are compatible with our parts. This modification will remove the safety feature as it comes from Ruger®. Please take that into consideration when making this change. You will no longer need a magazine in the frame to fire the pistol. Eliminating the magazine disconnect will also allow magazines to insert and eject much easier. If you have already ordered the Accurizing Kit for the Ruger® MKIII™ in hopes of trying to use an aftermarket bushing – please do not. You will more than likely experience resetting issues. So let’s recap: • The MKII Hammer Bushing will not with work with a MKIII™ Hammer • Do not use an aftermarket hammer bushing with any Volquartsen® parts. • The Accurizing Kit for the MKII is the only recommended method to remove the magazine disconnect As a general rule, please do not believe everything that you see in forums. They are a great resource for information but at times can be misleading and conflicts with the manufacturer’s suggestions. Both of the above mentioned kits will work in a Ruger 22/45 as well. If you are going to use these kits in a Ruger 22/45 please note you will not use the enclosed sear spring or Extended Bolt Release. The rest of the kit will work without any issues. All these items can be found at www.volquartsen.com or at one of our dealers. |
