Are you familiar with the NSSF Rimfire Challenge?

If you haven't been to a NSSF Rimfire Challenge event before I would strongly encourage you to find a local match and see what it is all about. The first time I attended an event was the 2011 World Championships that were held in New Mexico. At that time the event was known as the Ruger Rimfire Challenge. The entire premise of the original Ruger Rimfire Challenge was to bring new shooters into the shooting sports. After viewing the event in person I would definitely say they succeeded. I was instantly hooked and knew that we needed to become a bigger part of this.

We increased our sponsorship to local and state matches as well as continued our sponsorship of the world match. It was also at that time that we started to sponsor several competitive shooters. We feel we have a great group of shooters representing our team so if you ever see them at the range please stop by and say hi.

It was so awesome to see the number of new shooters competing. There were shooters of all ages were having a blast. It was even more impressive to see the interaction of these new shooters with the more accomplished shooters. There were some of the best shooters in the world taking time to answer any and all questions from the new shooters.

It has been nearly four years since I attended my first Rimfire Challenge event and in that time I have had the good fortune of being able to get to so many other matches. It is always fun to get out and interact with the shooters. The best part is that the entire program is based off getting families involved. There is nothing more enjoyable than watching the confidence of a new shooter grow over the course of an event.

As the 2015 season gets started, I would recommend finding a local match, get signed up and bring the whole family out for an exciting day of shooting.
