"I see pictures online of different colored VC Target Frames but I don't see them on your website so how can I order one?"
You may have come across a red, blue or maybe even a pink frame pictured online. These are all colors we offered at one time on our frames. Unfortunately, they are not currently an option and a lot of customers would like to know why.
These were Type III Hard Anodized by a company that decided they would no longer process firearm components. Needless to say, at that point we severed ties with them. We have had samples done by many companies since but unfortunately not completely satisfied with anything we have found.
We feel it is important to Type III Hard Anodize our frames for increased durability. The trouble is that we have had trouble finding a company that can supply this process in consistent, vibrant colors. It would be easy to offer these in Type II Anodizing in a variety of colors but in our opinion it would make for a lesser product.
It has always been our priority to focus on performance and function first, aesthetics second. These target frames are no different. We would not feel right putting out what we feel is an inferior product. Type II anodizing definitely has its place but just not on certain components.
The target frames are still available in three colors - black, silver and OD green.
The same holds true for our LLV Competition uppers. Even though we are the only company that uses a stainless steel breech on our lightweight uppers, it is still imperative that we apply the same Type III Hard Anodized finish to these. It is important to us that these not only look good, but will perform and function as they should for years of competitive use.
