Introducing Laser Hardened Breeches

As technology advances, so does our ability to Build It Better. We often find ourselves assessing and reviewing our manufacturing processes. This helps us determine where new technology will allow us to make improvements!

There is no disputing the benefit of a hardened breech: better durability and less breech deformation due to the repeated cycling of a semi-auto action.

The drawback to conventional hardening processes is their inability to control the process and not distort the barrel or affect barrel integrity. That is, until now.

We've been testing a laser hardening process with our barrels. The precision of the laser hardening process provides hardening only to specific areas, as compared to standard hardening procedures that treat the entire part.

As of January 1, 2020, all Volquartsen Firearm barrels will undergo this unique laser hardening process. This will provide all the benefits of a hardened breech without compromising the barrel quality.

We're incredibly proud of the reliability and durability of our existing barrels. Laser hardening is an opportunity to build upon an already sound foundation and continue our pursuit to always try and "Build it Better."
