What Time Has Taught Me About Criticism

Even though I am not big on New Year's resolutions, there is still excitement that comes with the calendar showing January 1st. Before diving into the New Year's festivities, I always try to audit the year. I value assessing what went right and where things could improve. Most importantly, though, I practice gratitude.

I am grateful for the opportunity to do what I love and for our incredible team, who make our entire operation run. I'm also thankful to you, the customer we consider our extended family.

Without you, the rest doesn't happen!

Your feedback is more appreciated than I could ever put into words. We consider ourselves lucky that the positive far outweighs the negative. As much fun as the positive is to read, it's the constructive criticism that drives us to find a way to improve.

As I have gotten older (and hopefully wiser), I have learned if a customer cares enough about our company and our products to take their valuable time to contact us, we are wise to listen. Admittedly, a younger version of myself did not see that constructive criticism in the same way. I would become defensive, stubborn, and at times defiant to many of those ideas.

Life has taught me that when criticism stings the most, it is usually more accurate than we would like to believe.

We are far from perfect but are constantly striving to get there. Yes, perfection is unattainable, but the pursuit is what motivates us.

Like many of you, we are tired of hearing about supply chain issues, inflation, delays, and everything else that has become a mainstream conversation. Many of those things are out of our control. However, what we can control is innovating new products, streamlining our processes, and providing you with the customer experience you deserve.

So bring on 2023, we are excited to see what the year brings.
