Know Fear vs. No Fear

Tony Bauer Podcast

Know fear vs. no fear.

Whether we admit it or not, fear plays a role in our lives. After all, you can't be brave if you're not afraid.

Fear by itself doesn't have to be a bad thing. When that fear goes unmanaged, it can create a problem and prevent us from reaching our potential. Tony Blauer has dedicated his life to not only understanding fear but also developing tactical systems to utilize fear to our advantage.

Tony's name would come up as somebody I needed to meet. Regardless of who I talked to, his name came up as "the guy" to talk to when it comes to understanding fear, self-defense, and being able to apply it to not only self-defense but to developing a healthier mindset to manage fear in all areas of life. I heard him on multiple podcasts, watched him speak at various events, and then had the chance to meet him at an event in South Carolina. It was evident in the short conversation we had how passionate he was about what he does.

Protecting yourself and your loved ones is the greatest skill you can possess. The more I learned about the common human response during violent encounters, how they typically occur, and the time needed to react, I realized I wasn't as prepared as I thought. My conversations with Tony opened my eyes in a big way. I need to be better prepared, and more important than anything, I must ensure my family is better prepared.

Self-defense isn't something that we learn once and are good to go, but to be proficient requires consistent training - both physical and mental.

I realize this is a departure from what I usually share with you, but it's a topic I feel strongly about. There's so much more to protecting ourselves, our families, and our communities than simply carrying a firearm. We will work with Tony in the coming weeks to help share his message on managing fear and how it relates to being better prepared in any situation.

In the meantime, check out episode 61 of the No Excuse To Miss Podcast Tony and I discuss fear, self-limiting beliefs, self-defense, and situational awareness. Tony also reveals why you should be careful with what you practice.
