Your Accurizing Kit questions answered.

As the number of models available from Ruger increases, so does the number of questions we receive on whether or not our kit fits. If you have a Ruger MK IV or a MK IV 22/45, our Accurizing Kit for the Ruger MK IV will work for you.

If you have a Ruger MKII or MKIII, you would need our VC2AK, as the MK IV kits are not interchangeable.

Whether it's the standard Ruger MK IV or something like the Ruger MK IV 22/45 Lite, the same kit provides you with that crisp, clean trigger pull weighing in at approximately 2.25 lbs.

Another question that seems to arise regularly is the differences between the three triggers offered: Stainless steel, TiN Gold, or hard-anodized black aluminum. There is no performance difference as each features the same pretravel and overtravel adjustments. It is a shooter-based preference for color and material. The stainless and gold triggers are CNC-machined from stainless compared to the aluminum trigger from 6061.

Lastly, there's confusion about which of the included spacers to use. Our kits include two hammer spacers; in most cases, you will use the thinner of the two spacers (the one measuring .050"). So why do we include the second spacer? Due to factory tolerances, it might be required on a few of the older MK IV 22/45 frames. The important thing to remember is that for proper functioning, the hammer should move freely with the spacer installed.

The included sear spacer fits only the MK IV 22/45 frame. The Ruger MK IV standard does not need a spacer.
