In Depth Cleaning of Volquartsen ENV Pistol
Here's a look at the cleaning process for our ENV pistol. This process applies to both our 22 LR models and 17 HMR model. One thing we get asked often is how often they should be cleaned. Unfortunately, that is not a clear-cut answer and depends on several factors, including the type of shooting you are doing and the type of ammo being used.
Once you are finished cleaning it is recommended to shoot about 50 rounds through it to ensure function if you are cleaning before a competition or hunt.
You should also be aware that cleaning the bore will affect accuracy for the first 20 rounds until the bore gets seasoned.
Tools Needed
- Torque wrench
- Screwdriver w/ hex key bits 1/8" and 9/64"
- 3/32" Hex key
- Metal or plastic picks
- Nylon brush
- Nitrile gloves
- Rag or shop towels
- 22 LR or 17 HMR pull-through rope (depending on the firearm)
- Breakthrough All-In-One Cleaner
- Canned Air
- A clean, non-slip surface, such as our Cleaning Mat
