Installation of Precision Frame Lug for the Ruger MK IV
The process for installing our Precision Frame Lug into your Ruger® MK IV™.
Tools Needed
- 3/32" Allen wrench
- Needle nose pliers
- A clean, non-slip surface, such as our Cleaning Mat
Disassembly
Step 1 - Remove Factory Lug
- Make sure the firearm is unloaded and uncocked.
- Separate the frame from the upper
- Remove the screw at the front of the frame that retains the existing frame lug
- Pull out the existing frame lug. You'll probably need to use a pliers to pull the lug out of 22/45 frames. Grab the lug and wiggle it to get it free.
Assembly
Step 1 - Install Precision Frame Lug
- Insert the Precision Frame Lug into the frame
- Reinstall the screw you removed earlier to retain the frame lug. Be careful not to tighten it excessively, especially on 22/45 frames.
