Adjustment and Removal of the Target Rear Sight

How to adjust for windage and elevation on our Target Rear Sight. We also look at how to install and remove the Target Rear Sight on your Volquartsen pistol or LLV upper. A Brownells® #3 Fixed-Blade Screwdriver (.150 Shank .040 Blade Thickness) or similar is recommended.
Tools Needed
- A clean, non-slip surface, such as our Cleaning Mat
Sight Adjustment
Elevation is adjusted via the screw on the top of the sight.
For a 15 yard zero, we recommend you start by screwing the elevation screw in all the way and then back it out 20 clicks. For a 20-25 yard zero, back it out 25 clicks.
Windage is adjusted via the screw on the right side of the receiver. There are about 86 clicks of adjustment in the windage screw, so we recommend screwing in all the way and then backing it out 43 clicks as a starting point.
Sight Removal
Unscrew the elevation screw completely. Maintain slight pressure on the top of the sight while you do this, as it's under spring pressure.
Flip the sight forward to expose the set screws that secure it in the dovetail. Set the two springs under the sight aside.
Loosen both set screws with a 1/16" Allen wrench. They do not need to be removed, just backed out to the point they no longer contact the upper.
Slide the rear sight out of the dovetail. You will probably need to use a rubber mallet to get it to move.
